blogger famine

Life is just too crazy.
Every other day or so, I say to myself,
"Self, you need to post on the blog."
Apparently I don't listen to myself very well.
Not listening to me seems to be an
epidemic around here.
Anywho, I diverge.
I just thought you'd like to know what a
fantastic mom I still manage to be
even amongst all the craziness around here.
This is what Rydge would eat for
breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Kyle too, for that matter. Yeah, I'm awesome that way.
A bowl of Top Ramen noodles with ice in it to cool it down.
Not only is there a famine on my blog, I think we may be living one around here, too.
There you go. Jealous of me yet?

the black hole

I don't have a church calling right now.
I've been looking forward to this day for,
I don't know, two years.
But now the day is finally here, and I feel... empty.
Truth be told, I've been super busy this week.
School started for me, regular kids stuff, etc...
But something's missing.
Yeah, I know. I'm sure this feeling will go away.
But wow. I sure didn't expect this black hole in my heart.
What a lucky gal I've been to learn from the
greatness of the Memorial Springs Ward women!
Thanks all of you for your examples and being
patient with my lameness!
Now - PUT ME IN THE NURSERY!!!

mini-me

As I was cheering Kyle on at his game the other night,
I looked down in the stands and saw my bookends.
How my baby loves his big brother
and how that big boy loves my baby.
It makes this momma's heart happy!
He's Ty's little mini-me.

new member of the family

Last night Spencer took Rydgeman up to bed.
A few minutes later he yells down the stairs...
"Did you know we have a new
member in our family?"
I was pretty sure one of Ty's friends was hiding in a closet or something...
but I was wrong.
Kyle and Rydge had "rescued" a kitten yesterday.
Instead of looking for it's rightful owner,
what do they do?
The hang a rope out of their two story
bedroom window, lower down a laundry
basket, and haul the kitty up to
their room.
Then they play with it.
Apparently it had free roam of their room most of the day Sunday.

When Kyle heard Spencer tell Rydge
it was time for bed,
he dashed upstairs and hid the kitten in
his. dresser. drawer. seriously?

Needless to say - kitty wasn't too happy
with it's new accommodations and
started making a racket.
At first my babe thought it was a critter in the attic.

Rydge finally fessed up. That's when Spencer brought it downstairs.

To top it off - they thought they had the right to keep the dang thing.
Maddie opened up a can of canned beef (? for a cat?) and Ty made a bed
for the animal.  I had to get mean and insist they return it to it's rightful owner.

Yes - they are going to start begging for a kitty.
No - there will never be a cat in this house
as long as I'm running the show.

If I come up missing
you'll know they chose the cat over me.
P.S. Daphne is TOTALLY on my side.
